Crowley's Ridge BEST

Saturday, October 18's Game Day marked the end of six weeks of work for all of the students involved in the 2008 BEST Competition.   All of of the students who participated deserve congratulations for their efforts!  Singled out for specific recognition were the following:
 
BEST Award (notebooks, table displays, oral presentations, spirit/sportsmanship, robotics):
     1st place: Buffalo Island Central High School
     2nd place: Newport High School
     3rd place: Hillcrest High School
Robotics Competition (26 seeding competition matches, 3 finals matches):
     1st place: Newport High School
     2nd place: Buffalo Island Central High School
     3rd place: Hillcrest High School
Robotics Finalist: Jonesboro Magnet School for Math & Science
Top Gun Award (most points in a single seeding match): Newport High School
Founders' Award for Creative Design: Buffalo Island Central High School
Most Robust Machine Award: Hillcrest High School
Most Photogenic Award: Newport High School
Most Elegant Award: Buffalo Island Central High School
Best Web Page Design Award: Hillcrest High School
Best T-Shirt Design Award: Arkansas Northeastern College Secondary Center

 
Buffalo Island Central High School, Newport High School, and Hillcrest High School go on from here to the regional competition, Frontier Trails BEST, at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith on December 5 and 6.  Good luck to them all!
