2009 Game Day Results

Saturday, October 31's Game Day marked the end of six weeks of work for all of the students involved in the 2009 BEST Robotics Competition.   All of of the students who participated deserve congratulations for their efforts!  Singled out for specific recognition were the following:
 
BEST Award (notebooks, table displays, oral presentations, spirit/sportsmanship, robotics):
     1st place: Buffalo Island Central High School
     2nd place: Hillcrest High School
     3rd place: West Memphis Christian School
Robotics Competition (20 seeding competition matches, 1 wildcard match, 6 semi-finals matches and 3 finals matches):

     3rd place: Mid-South Community College
Robotics Finalist (4th place Robotics Competition): Williford High School
Founders' Award for Creative Design: Buffalo Island Central High School
Most Robust Machine Award: Mid-South Community College
Outstanding Web Page Design Award: Hillcrest High School
Top Gun Award (most collected in a single match): Williford High School
Outstanding CAD Design Work: Buffalo Island Central High School
Most Photogenic Machine Award: Mid-South Community College
Outstanding T-shirt Design Award: Jonesboro Magnet School for Math and Science
Most Elegant Machine Award: Buffalo Island Central High School
Outstanding Rookie Team Award: Mammoth Springs High School
Blood, Sweat and Duct Tape AwardTuckerman High School
Outstanding Middle School Team Award: Jonesboro Magnet School for Math and Science
Teacher of the Year Award: Buffalo Island Central High School (Steve Brummett & Debbie Olive)

Because of their standings with respect to the BEST Award and Robotics Competition, the following teams go on from here to the regional competition, Frontier Trails BEST, at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith on December 4 and 5:
